Minden, Gardnerville and Genoa are home to one of the most unique Christmas Celebrations anywhere, running for almost 3 decades now. The Annual Parade of Lights is a cross town extravaganza, complete with floats decorated and lit up in the Christmas spirit.
This event typically occurs on the first weekend of December. There’s a grandstand, judges, and fun filled events sprinkled through town in support of the parade. Looking to warm up for the main event? Typically, the night before is the Minden Park gazebo lighting. The DHS Jazz Band performs. There are fire pits with S’mores for those who bring a food donation. Be there for the big countdown when Santa lights things up! If you’re interested in a more intimate event, head over to charming Genoa for their Christmas Light Party. All the standards will be there, a beautiful blue spruce, plenty of lights, cookies, carolers, and hot cocoa.
